Our story
We were frustrated founders before we were builders.
RealMargin was built because we couldn’t find a tool that told us our real profit number — not revenue, not “net revenue”, but the actual amount that ended up in our bank account after everything.
We ran Shopify stores. We spent hours every week in spreadsheets trying to reconcile Shopify revenue with bank deposits, manually subtracting fees and ad spend and refunds, guessing at COGS because inventory tools were too expensive or too complicated.
And still, at the end of it, we weren’t confident. The numbers never quite added up. Shopify would say we had a great month. The bank account told a different story.
We found out what most founders eventually discover: revenue is vanity. The number that matters is what’s left after Shopify takes their cut, after the Meta campaigns, after the supplier invoice, after the team member you pay every fortnight. That number — the real one — was invisible.
